AvaTrade Partner Code 128979: What Actually Happens When You Use It

Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?

Nope. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.

What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Simple as that.

What's the bonus amount?

Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.

$2,000 gets you $400.

$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Most people won't hit that.

UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Goes to £11,200 at the top.

Account minimum is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.

Where to enter the code

Registration page. Below the phone field, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow. A field drops down. Type **128979**.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.

If the system rejects it, don't panic. Go ahead and register anyway. Reach out to your account manager first. Ask them to add code 128979. Standard practice for them.

Bonus withdrawal conditions

There's a volume requirement.

Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Active traders hit it quicker check here than expected.

The deposit belongs to you. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.

One thing worth knowing: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
